Sardar Muhammad 'Azim Khan, Sardar-i-Kalan, sometime Regent and Wazir-i-'Azam.Governor of Kandahar 1904-1913 and of Turkestan 1913-1919, Mbr State Council 1921-1924 (Presdt. 1922-1924), Chief of Sch of Islamic Research and Study 1926-1928. m. a daughter of Sardar Sher Muhammad Khan. He was k. 1928, having had issue, one son and one daughter:
1) H.E. Sardar-i-Ala Ghulam Faruq Khan Usman. b. 1902. Served in the Code Dept 1926-1928, Deputy Minister for the Interior 1929-1930, Assist Sec at MFA 1930, 2nd Assist. Sec. Ministry of Trade 1930-1931, Deputy Dir of Posts and Telegraphs 1931, Governor of Nangrahar 1930-1932 and 1955-1963, of Herat 1935-1938, and Kandahar 1932-1935 and 1938-1939, Minister for the Interior 1939-1942 and 1945-1948.Rcvd: Sardar-i-Ala (1933). m. (first) 1929, Zubaida Begum (d. before 1932), eldest daughter of H.R.H. Sardar Muhammad Aziz Khan, by his wife, Khurshid Begum, third daughter of Sardar Muhammad Asaf Khan. m. (second) January 1932, Ruh Afza Begum, daughter of Ghulam Muhammad Khan. m. (third) a Mazari lady. m. (fourth) Qawkaba Begum, daughter of Major-General Ghulam Muhammad Khan. m. (fifth) Sultana Begum, daughter of H.E. Sardar-i-Ala Shuja ud-Daula, GCVO, sometime Ambassador at the Court of St James's. He had issue, seven sons and ten daughters:
a) Muhammad Ismail Khan Usman (s/o Zubaida). Served with UNO, Geneva. m. Maliha Begum, second daughter of Sardar 'Abdu's Samad Khan Bahadur, sometime Governor of Farah, by his second wife, Qudsia Begum, daughter of Shah Zaman Khan Sadozzai. He had issue, two sons and three daughters:
i) Sami Khan Usman. m. Tirina, née Nazar. He has issue, one son:
(1) Duran Khan Usman.
ii) Umar Khan Usman. m. a Swiss lady. He has issue, two children:
i) Homa Begum. Imprisoned for six months together with her son. m. (first) 1971, Khalid Daud Khan (k. during the Communist coup d'etat, 1978), third son of H.R.H. Sardar Muhammad Daud Khan, sometime President of Afghanistan, by his wife, H.R.H Princess Zarmina Begum [Zainab Jan], third daughter of H.M. Shah-i-Shahidal-Ghazi Muhammad Nadir Shah, King of Afghanistan. She had issue, an only son - see Afganistan (Telai). m. (second) 1995, 'Abdu'l Walid Usman, son of her uncle, Muhammad Ishaq Khan Usman. No further issue - see below.
ii) Malali Begum. m. Yusuf Khan Siraj, second son of Major-General H.R.H Sardar Asadu'llah Khan, by his wife, Kaukaba Begum, second daughter of General H.H. Sardar Muhammad Sulaiman Khan. She had issue, three sons - see Afghanistan (Barakzai).
b) Muhammad Ishaq Khan Usman (s/o Ruh Afza). MHR 1968. m. Bilqis Begum, third daughter of H.E. Sardar-i-Ala Shuja ud-Daula, GCVO, sometime Ambassador at the Court of St James's. He had issue, four sons and three daughters:
i) Khalid Khan Usman. m. Shahla Begum, only daughter of Saleh ud-din Khan, by his wife, Latifa Begum, daughter of Gul Ahmad Malikyar. He has issue, an only son:
(1) Nehaad Khan Usman.
ii) 'Abdu'l Walid Khan Usman. Late Afghan Air Force. m. (first) (div.) Asma, third daughter of H.E. Muhammad Haidar Khan Etemadi, sometime Musahib to King Muhammad Zahir Shah, by his fourth wife, Siddiqa Begum, daughter of Sardar Nadir Khan. m. (second) 1995, Homa Khanum, third daughter of his uncle, Muhammad Ismail Khan Usman, by his wife, Maliha Begum, second daughter of Sardar 'Abdu's Samad Khan Bahadur, sometime Governor of Farah. He has issue, by his first wife, two daughters:
(1) Sahar Khanum Usman, educ. George Mason Univ, Virginia (BS Biology).
iii) Wais Khan Usman. m. Zarmina Begum. He has issue, two daughters:
(1) Wana Khanum Usman.
(2) Tarana Khanum Usman.
iv) Masud Khan Usman. m. Mariam, daughter of Muhammad Tahir Azimi, late Afghan Foreign Service. He has no issue.
i) Nadija Begum. m. Barai Khan Usman, son of Toryalai Khan Usman, by his wife, Qudsia Begum, daughter of Muhammad Rasul Khan. She has issue, one son and one daughter.
ii) Sultana Begum. m. Muhammad Ibrahim Rashid. She has issue, two daughters.
iii) Ramin Begum. m. Ahmad Rasuli. She has issue, one son and one daughter.
c) Toryalai Khan Usman ['Abdu'l Shakur Khan] (s/o Ruh Afza). m. Qudsia Begum, daughter of Muhammad Rasul Khan, by his wife, Khadija Begum, daughter of Ghulam Haidar Khan. He had issue, one son and two daughters:
i) Barai Khan Usman. m. Nadija Begum, eldest daughter of his uncle, Muhammad Ishaq Khan Usman, by his wife, Bilqis Begum, third daughter of H.E. Sardar-i-Ala Shuja ud-Daula, GCVO, sometime Ambassador at the Court of St James's. He has issue, one son and one daughter:
(1) Yama Khan Usman.

d) Aisha Begum [Mrs Aisha Zikeria] (d/o Sultana). m. Habib Ahmad Khan Zikria, youngest son of H.E. Faiz Muhammad Khan Zikeria, sometime Ambassador to Turkey, the Court of St James's and to Saudi Arabia, by his first wife, Humaira Begum, daughter of Muhammad Akbar Khan Telai. She has issue, one son and one daughter - see Afghanistan (Zikeria).
e) Parvin Begum [Mrs Parwin Zikria] (d/o Sultana). m. Bashir Ahmad Khan Zikeria, seventh son of H.E. Faiz Muhammad Khan Zikeria, sometime Ambassador to Turkey, the Court of St James's and to Saudi Arabia, by his first wife, Humaira Begum, daughter of Muhammad Akbar Khan Telai. She has issue, two sons and two daughters - see Afghanistan (Zikeria).
f) Siddiqa Begum [Mrs Sediqa Rasheed] (d/o Sultana). m. Dr. 'Abdu'l Farid Rashid (Alkozai). She d. 1971/1972.
g) Zohra Begum [Mrs Zohra Rasheed] (d/o Sultana). m. Dr Farid Rashid (Alkozai). She has issue, one son and three daughters:
i) 'Abdu'l Rahman Rashid. He d. in Germany, April 2005.
i) Sidiqa Rashid.
ii) Bilqis Rashid.
iii) Khadija Rashid.
h) Salma Begum [Mrs Salma Mostamandy] (d/o Sultana). Radiologist at San Jose, California. m. Dr Akhtar Mostamandy (d. in the USA, 5th May 2004), Gynecologist and also the Co-founder of the National United Movement. She had issue, two sons and two daughters:
i) Akeem Mostamandy, educ. Stamford Univ, Palo Alto, California, USA. m. 31st January 2010, Nicole Antonia, née Carter.
