To fully appreciate the splendours of Venetian art and history a guided visit to the Doge's Palace is a must !
We start from the heart of Venice, St. Mark's Square. After a brief visit to St. Mark's Basilica we visit the Doge's palace, that was for centuries the official residence of the Doge and of various political institutions. It is decorated with splendid carved gilded ceilings and with breathtaking paintings by Titian, Veronese and Tintoretto. Together we also cross the famous Bridge of Sighs and visit the Venetians' old Prison !

| Classical Sightseeing II (outdoors)
We start from the heart of Venice, St. Mark's Square, the former political centre.
After a brief explanation of the Doge's palace and Bridge of Sighs from the outside we visit St. Mark's Basilica with its gorgeous mosaics and the Pala d'Oro, an incredible work of ancient goldsmithery, unique in its kind ! Through the Mercerie, the famous shopping street of Venice we reach the Rialto Bridge area, once the commercial trading centre, and the Grand Canal.

| Minor Venice For those who do not wish to stay 2 hours long in the same building, museum or church, this a guided walking tour starting from St. Mark's Square giving you a general overview not only of the centre (St. Mark's Church, Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs), but also of Venice off the beaten track, the small winding canals, the narrow streets... The tour ends close to the Rialto bridge.

| Art and Culture II We visit the Gothic church S. Maria Gloriosa dei Frari which contains 2 masterpieces : Titian's Assunta and Pala Pesaro and Bellini's Trypticon or enter into the Archbrotherhood of S. Rocco with a fascinating painting cycle by Tintoretto.
We also walk through the small, quiet street of the district of S. Polo and discover 'ombra' (glas of wine) and 'cicheti' (apetizers) in a wine bar.

| Miracoli Church and Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the most authentic Venetian district left, lonely canals, quiet streets and crowded wine-bars. We start from the Miracoli church, a Renaissance shrine and finish close to the Jewish Ghetto, the oldest one in the world. Do you know that the word 'Ghetto' was coined here ?

| Ca' Rezzonico
The air-conditioned museum Ca' Rezzonico facing the Grand Canal is entirely devoted to the 18th Century ! This former privately owned palace includes paintings by Canaletto, Longhi, frescos by Tiepolo, pieces of furniture by Brustolon and Murano chandeliers in an exceptional restored setting.

| Palazzo Querini-Stampalia In the Palazzo Querini-Stampalia Querini's collection of paintings, furniture and Sevres china service offers an insight into the way of living of an average noble Venetian family in the 18th Century. Garden and inner courtyard were remodernized by Carlo Scarpa.

| Carpaccio's paintings
This is a special guided tour of the Scuola di S. Giorgio degli Schiavoni, a former guild that contains the beautiful narrative cycle of paintings by Vittore Carpaccio representing among others St. George killing the dragon and saving the princess.
