)
Earth Station---- (
An amateur station located on, or within 50 km of, the Earth's surface intended for communications with space stations or
with other Earth stations by means of one or more other objects in space.
)
Earth-Moonn-Earth (EME) or Moonbounce---- (
A method of communicating with other stations by reflecting radio signals off the Moon's surface.

Emergency Communications Advisory Committee.
)
Eccentricity---- (
The orbital parameter used to describe the geometric shape of an elliptical orbit;
eccentricity values vary from e = 0 to e = 1, where e = 0 describes a circle and e = 1 describes a straight line.
)
ECL---- (
Emitter-coupled logic.
)
EHF---- (
Extremely High Frequency (30 - 300 GHz).
)
EIA---- (
Electronic Industries Association.
)
EIA-232-C---- (
An EIA standard physical-level interface between
DTE (terminal) and DCE (modem), using 25-pin connectors.
)
Eighty-Eight (88)---- (
Originally a ham (amateur) radio abbreviation that
stood for love and kisses. Sometimes used by CB operators in closing a transmission, particularly
as in "Gotta go now, so we'll throw you the three's and eight's." (Three's is a variant of "seventy-three" for "best regards.") Eight's and three's together are known as the "good numbers".
)
EIRP---- (
Effective isotropic radiated power. Same as ERP except the antenna
reference is an isotropic radiator.
)
E-layer---- (
The region of the ionosphere found approximately 55 to 90 miles above Earth;
it fades away a few hours after sunset. The main impact of the E-layer on radio propagation is to absorb energy
from signals passing through it, although sporadic-E propagation makes possible distant communications on frequencies above 30 MHz.
)
Electric field---- (
An invisible force of nature.An electric field exists in a region of space if an electrically charged object placed in the region is subjected to an electrical force.
)
Electromotive Force (EMF)---- (
The force of pressure that pushes a current through a circuit.
)
Electron---- (
A tiny, negatively charged particle, normally found in an area surrounding the nucleus fo an atom.Moving electrons make up an electrical current;
A subatomic particle that has a negative charge and is the basis of electrical current.
)
Elevation---- (
Angle above the local horizontal plane, usually specified in degrees. (o* = plane of the Earth's surface
at your location; 90* = straight up, perpendicular to the plane of the Earth).
)
Eleven metor band---- (
CB radio / 11 meters is the wavelength of the 27MHz and it is a small
group of 40 frequencies between 26.965 Mhz and 27.405 mhz.
)
ELF---- (
Extremely Low Frequency (30 - 300 Hz) .
)
Elliptical orbit---- (
Those orbits in which the satellite path describes an ellipse with the Earth atone focus.
)
ELT---- (
Emergency locator transmitter.
)
EMC---- (
Electromagnetic compatibility.
)
EME---- (
EARTH - MOON - EARTH,--ie: Moon Bounce communication.
)
Emergency---- (
A situation where there is a danger to lives or property.
)
Emergency Traffic---- (
Messages with life and death urgency or requests for medical help and supplies that leave an area shortly after an emergency.
)
EMF---- (
Electromotive force is the term used to define the force of attraction between
two points of different charge potential.Also called voltage.
)
EMI---- (
Electron Magnetic Interference often called RFI (Radio-Frequency Interference.
)
Emission---- (
Transmission of a signal.
)
Emission mode---- (
The form of a radio emission, such as AM, FM, or single sideband.
)
Emission Privilege---- (
Permission to use a particular emission type (such as Morse code or voice).
)
Emission Types---- (
Term for the different modes authorized for use on the Amateur Radio bands. Examples are CW, SSB, RTTY and FM.
)
Emitter---- (
One of the outer layers of a bipolar transistor, often the reference.
)
EMP---- (
Electromagnetic pulse.
)
Energy---- (
Capability of doing work. It is usually measured in electrical terms as the number of
watts of power consumed during a specific period of time, such as watt-seconds or kilowatt-hours; The ability to do work; The ability to exert a
force to move some object.
)
Envelope-delay distortion---- (
In a complex waveform, unequal propagation delay for different frequency components.
)
EOC---- (

"The copyright issue is a sticky one for Web site owners and their employees, particularly contractors.
Currently in the United States, there are no laws that specifically address copyright issues in the online world.
However, the U.S. courts have ruled that existing copyright laws governing the print world can be applied to the online world."
If by mistake, I've used someone's copyright material, notify me, and I'll remove it.
