1819 - 1835 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Mu'azzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Shah Alam, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Johor, Pahang and all its dependencies. b. 1776, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri al-Wakil al-Imam Sultan Mahmud Ri'ayat Shah Zilu'llah fil'Alam Khalifat ul-Muminin ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Johor and Pahang and their dependencies, by his second wife, Encik Makoh binti Daing Maturang, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent by his father, before 28th February 1808. Adopted by Raja Hamida, the Royal wife and widow of his father, 1811. Recognised and installed as Sultan of Johor and all its dependencies, at Singapore by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, 6th January 1819. m. (first) before 12th April 1804, H.H. Tun Encik Puan Bulang binti Tun Engku Muhammad, Raja Ampuan, daughter of Y.M. Tun Engku Muhammad bin Dato' Temenggong Sri Maharaja Tun 'Abdu'l Jamal, Engku Muda, of Bulang, by his wife, Y.A.M. Tengku Lebar binti al-Marhum Sultan Sulaiman Badr ul-'Alam Shah, daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Sulaiman Badr ul-'Alam Shah Khalifat ul-Muminim ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil Ri'ayat Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Johor and Pahang.  m. (second) 1811, Encik Wan Aisha [Esah] binti al-Marhum Bendahara Paduka Raja Tun Koris, daughter of Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Koris bin Dato' Bendahara Paduka Raja Tun 'Abdu'l Majid, Dato' Bendahara Paduka Raja of Endau. m. (third) at Pahang, before 12th March 1811, H.H. Tengku Prabhu [Perbu] binti Tengku Mahmud, Raja Perempuan (d. at Singapore, after 1842, bur. Masjid Besar Tengkera, Malacca), elder daughter of Y.A.M. Tengku Mahmud [Mahmat] ibni al-Marhum Sultan Daud, Tengku Panglima Besar, of Trengganu. m. (fourth) Cik Wuk binti Sulaiman (b. 1785), daughter of Encik Sulaiman Chabang, from Pahang. He d. at Tranquerah, Malacca, 2nd September 1835 (bur. Masjid Besar Tengkera, Malacca), having had issue, four sons and one daughter:
