1942 - 1943 H.H. Muhammad al-Munsif [Moncef] Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis. b. at La Manouba (or Sidi-Bou-Saïd), 4^th March 1881, eldest son of H.H. Muhammad al-Nasir Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis, GCMG, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent and invested with the title of Bey al-Mahalla and the style of His Highness, 30^th April 1942. Proclaimed on the death of his cousin, 19^th June 1942. Attempted to free Tunis from French control and established an independent government in 1942. Deposed by the Free French on the false grounds that he was a Vichy collaborator, 14^th May 1943. Abdicated 6^th July 1943. Exiled to Laghouat in southern Algeria, then Ténes, and removed to Pau in France in 1945. Lieut-Gen. Beylical Army 30/4/1942, Field Marshal 19/6/1942. Sovereign and Grand Master of the Nishan al-Ahad al-Aman, Nishan ad-Dam, and Nishan al-Iftikhar. Princess (Lalla) Habiba Beya (b. at Manouba, 1888; d. 21^st December 1969), former wife of Lieutenant-General Si Ahmad Gara, and elder daughter of Prince Murad Bey. m. (fourth) August 1942, Lalla Arbiya (d. 30^th July 1974), who shared her husband's exile, former Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Habiba, former wife of Fnoun, daughter of Si Muhammad al-Klibi. He d. in exile at Villa Cadaval, Pau, France, 1^st September 1948 (bur. Sidi BelHasan Mausoleum, Jellaz), having had issue, three sons and one daughter, by his first wife:

June 1977), eldest daughter of Colonel Si Said Zaccaria, sometime ADC, by his wife, Princess Khadija, eldest daughter of H.H. Muhammad al-Nasir Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis, GCMG. He d. at Tunis, 4^th April 1938, having had issue, two sons and three daughters:
- a) Prince (Sidi) Nasir ud-din [Naceur Eddine] Bey. b. at La Marsa, 31^st March 1927. Rcvd: the Nishan ad-Dam, and GC of the Nishan al-Iftikhar, etc. m. at La Marsa, 2^nd October 1956 (nikah? 18^th February 1954), Lalla Khadija (b. 6^th July 1935), eldest daughter of Si Muhammad al-Munji Zaccaria, by his wife, Princess Farida, daughter of H.H. Muhammad al-Munsif Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis. He had issue, one son and three daughters:

(first) Prince (Sidi) Muhammad [M'hamed] Bey (b. 3^rd October 1951; d. 9^th February 1998), second son of Prince Muhammad Riza Bey, by his first wife, Lalla Badia, daughter of Si 'Abdu'l Majid Zarrouk. m. (second) 1952, Si Zain al-Abidin Ben Achour (d. 19xx), son of Sidi Tahir Ben Achour, sometime Shaikh ul-Islam. She d. 27^th January 1978, having had issue, two daughters by her first husband, and one son by her second.

- c) Princess (Lalla) Saliha [Saluha]. b. at Carthage, 25^th June 1933. She d. 1948.
2) Prince (Sidi) Muhammad ar-Rauf [Errouf] Bey. b. at Sidi-Bou-Saïd, 9^th October 1903, educ. privately. Rcvd: the Nishan ad-Dam and GC of the Nishan al-Iftikhar, etc. Helped to save several Jewish families during the Nazi occupation of Tunis in WW2. m. (first) (div. 1923) Lalla Halima [Hallouma], née Zaccaria. m. (second) Lalla Zohra (b. 5^th October 1914; d. October 1950), née Helena Belino, an Italian convert to Islam. m. (third) Lalla Aisha [Aïcha], daughter of Si Nur ud-din Jounaï. He d. 12^th May 1977, having had issue, two sons and four daughters by his second wife:
