1694 - 1722 H.M. Zill-u'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sultan Husain Shah, Shahanshah of Persia. b. October 1668, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 29th July 1694. Crowned at the Ayinakhana in Sa'adatabad Palace, Isfahan, 7th August 1694. A man of great piety and devotion. Forced to abdicate after the Afghan invasion, 23rd October 1722. m. several wives, including (first) 1694, a daughter of Vahshatu Sultan, Safi Quli Khan. m. (second) a daughter of H.M. Vakhtang V [Shah Nawaz Khan II], King of Kartli. m. (third) 1710, ... Begum (m. second, ca. 1727, the Khan of Erevan), daughter of H.M. Kaikushru, King of Kartli and C-in-C of the Persian army. m. (fourth) (div.) Amina Begum, alias Khair un-nisa Khanum, former wife of Shah Sultan Husain (m. second, ca. 1713, H.H. Amir Fath 'Ali Bahadur Khan-e Qajar Quyunlu, Nai'b us-Sultana), daughter of Husain Quli Agha. He was k. at Isfahan on the orders of Ashraf Shah, ca. November 1726, having had issue, fourteen sons and twelve daughters:

1726 - 1728 H.M. Zill-u'llah Ahmad Shah, Shahanshah of Persia. b. as Mirza Sayyid Ahmad al-Husaini al-Marashi, eldest son of Mirza 'Abu'l Qasim al-Husaini al-Marashi. Seized the provinces of Fars and Kerman, on behalf of Shah Tahmasp II in 1139. Crowned at Kerman, under the name of Ahmad Shah, 8th November 1726. Defeated and captured by Ashraf Shah Ghalzai, 1728. 1722 - 1726 and 1729 - 1732 H.M. Zill-u'llah Tahmasp Shah II, Sahib-i-Qiran, Shahanshah of Persia. b. ca. 1704, educ. privately. Proclaimed as Heir Apparent with the title of Vali Ahad, 26th March 1722. Escaped to Isfahan during the Afghan siege, 7th June 1722. Proclaimed at Qazvin, 24th November 1722. Defeated by the Afghans and driven to Tabriz in 1725, forced out by the Turks to Teheran, defeated again by the Afghans and expelled from that city to Mazandaran, December 1725. Captured Mashhad with the aid of Nadir Quli Beg-e Afshar, 11th December 1726. Recaptured Isfahan and was Crowned there, December 1729. Deposed by Nadir Shah, 2nd September 1732. m. several wives, including Shahpuri Begum, widow of Mirza Muhammad Husain al-Husaini al-Marashi, and granddaughter of H.M. 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sulaiman Safi Shah II, Shahanshah of Persia. He was k. on the orders of Nadir Shah, at Sabzavar, together with his sons, February 1740 (bur. 1732 - 1736 H.M. Zill-u'llah Abbas Shah III, Sahib-i-Qiran, Shahanshah of Persia. b. at Isfahan, January 1732, second son of H.M. Zill-u'llah Tahmasp Shah II, Sahib-i-Qiran, Shahanshah of Persia. Succeeded on the deposition of his father, 2nd September 1732. Invested at the Talar-i-Tawila Palace, Isfahan, 7th September 1732. Reigned under the Regency of Nadir Quli Beg-e Afshar until deposed by him, 8th March 1736. He was later k. at Sabzavar, together with his father and brother, on the orders of Nadir Shah, February 1740 (bur. Mashhad).CopyrightŠ Christopher Buyers

Zill-u'llah Sulaiman Shah II, Shahanshah of Persia. b. at Isfahan, 18th June 1714, son of Mirza Muhammad Daud al-Husaini al-Marashi, by his wife, Shahzadi 'Alamiyan Shahbanu Begum, daughter of H.M. Zill-u'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sulaiman Safi Shah II, Shahanshah of Persia, educ. privately. Mutawali of the Shrine of the Imam Reza at Mashhad in succession to his father. Proclaimed there after deposing and blinding Shahrukh Shah Afshar, 17th December 1749. Deposed after a reign of barely forty days, 9th January 1750. m. 1731, his cousin, Shahzadi 'Alamiyan Khan Aga Begum, daughter of H.M. 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sultan Husain Shah, Shahanshah of Persia. 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sultan Husain Shah, Shahanshah of Persia, educ. privately. Proclaimed on the deposition of Sulaiman Shah II, 9th January 1750. Deposed later the same year but was restored, 1752. Removed from any part of the active government of the country, 1756 and thereafter continued as nominal ruler.
