1823 - 1859 H.H. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mulki Amir ud-din Iskandar Kaulaini Shah, Sultan of Ternate. b. at Ternate, 1769, as Kyai Chili Putra Muhammad Zain ud-din, second son of H.H. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Siraj ul-Bilat Shah Taj ul-Aulia al-Mukarram Amir Iskandar Jihad Azim ud-din, Sultan of Ternate, educ. privately. Proclaimed on the death of his uncle, 11th October 1823 (recognised by the Governor-General of the NEI, 30th December 1823). Reigned under the regency of Sultan Said ul-Biladi. Installed at Fort Orange, 27th May 1824. Rcvd: Knt. 3rd class of the Order of the Netherlands Lion (5.11.1858). m. (first) Bai, a lady from Tidore. m. (second) 1823, H.H. Jou Ma Boki Buntung, his chief wife, daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Said ul-Biladi Siraj ul-Mulk-i-Amiri Iskandar Zain ul-Bahrain Wahuwa Khair us-Salikhin Shah, Sultan of Ternate. He d. at Ternate, 20th November 1859 (succ. by his third son), having had issue, five sons and two daughters:

Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan ul-Mahf ul-Binayat Illahi Mamran Siraj ul-Mulki Amir ud-din Iskandar Wahuwa Mina Salikhin Shah, Sultan of Ternate and its Dependencies. b. at Ternate, as Kyai Chili Putra Muhammad Azad, third son of H.H. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mulki Amir ud-din Iskandar Kaulaini Shah, Sultan of Ternate, by his second wife, H.H. Jou Ma Boki Buntung, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent and invested as Kapita Laut 1856. Succeeded on the death of his father, 20th November 1859. Installed at Fort Orange, 30th May 1861. Rcvd: Knt. 3rd Class of the Order of the Netherlands Lion (5.11.1858). m. (first) August 1835, Khadija (d. 1847), daughter of Ilhami, sometime Kadi Bangsa. m. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mahs ul-Binayatu'llalali Hannan Siraj ul-Mulk Amir ud-din Iskandar IV Munawar us-Sadiq Wahuwa mina al-'Adalin Shah, Sultan of Ternate. b. at Ternate, March 1839, as Kyai Chili Putra Ayanhar, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan ul-Mahf ul-Binayat Illahi Mamran Siraj ul-Mulki Amir ud-din Iskandar Wahuwa Mina Salikhin Shah, Sultan of Ternate, by his first wife, Khadija binti Ilhami, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent and invested as Kapita Laut 1863. Proclaimed as Sultan, 4th and installed 20th October 1879. m. at Ternate, 1867, H.H. Jou Ma Boki Kina, daughter of Kyai Chili Putra Izmunandar, Major Ngofa-ma-nyira. He d. at Ternate, July 1900, having had issue, five sons and two daughters:

Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mahs ul-Binayatu'llalali Hannan Siraj ul-Mulk Amir ud-din Iskandar IV Munawar us-Sadiq Wahuwa mina al-'Adalin Shah, Sultan of Ternate.  Succeeded on the death of his father, July 1900. Installed at Fort Orange, 20th January 1902. He d. at Ternate, within a month of his installation, 20th February 1902, having had issue, one daughter:

Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mahs ul-Binayatu'llalali Hannan Siraj ul-Mulk Amir ud-din Iskandar IV Munawar us-Sadiq Wahuwa mina al-'Adalin Shah, Sultan of Ternate. Succeeded on the death of his elder brother, 20th February 1902. Installed at Ternate, 11th July 1902. Arrested and exiled to Bacan, for his alleged complicity in the murder of the Dutch Resident Controller Agerbeek, 7th July 1915. Deposed and exiled to Bandung, 23rd September 1915. Permitted to return to Ternate as a private citizen in 1932. Rcvd: Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau. m. (first) … m. (second) H.H. Jou Ma Boki Mihir, daughter of Kyai Chili 'Abdu'l Malik [Amal], Susupu of Halmahera, by his wife, a daughter of Kyai Muhammad Arif al-Yogya. Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Taj ul-Mahsil Binayatu'llah al-Hannan Siraj ul-Mulk Amir ud-din Iskandar V Munawar as-Saddik Wahuwa min al-'Adilin Shah, Sultan of Ternate, by his second wife, H.H. Jou ma-Boki Mihir, educ. Malay Sch., Bandung; Europese Lagere Sch., Ternate; Europese Lagere Sch., Christelyke Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs, and Hogere Burger Sch., Batavia. Exiled to Bandung with his father 1915. Mbr. Partai Sarekat Islam 1920-1925, komis at central office of SS in Bandung, ambtenaar ter beschikking in Bima 1925, later in Sumbawa Besar. Restored in his father's stead, 2nd September 1929. Installed at Ternate, 21st February 1930. Evacuated to Australia by Allied forces, together with his wife and family, 8th October 1945. Cmsnd. as Lieut-Col. KNIL 1944, and served during WW2 1944-1946, Mbr. Cncl. of the Provisional Govt. of the NEI 1944-1947, Senator for the North Moluccas State the East Indonesia 1948-1950, Minister for Internal Affairs 1949-1950. Served in the Ministry of the Interior at Jakarta during Sukarno's presidency. Attended the Solemn Investiture of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands at the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam, 1948. Rcvd: Queen Juliana Solemn Investiture medal (6.9.1948). m. (first) at Ternate, Hamida, a lady from Soa Sio. m. (second) at Bacan, 13th May 1930, H.H. Jou ma-Boki Mariam (b. at Bacan, 17th December 1914; d. ca. January 2001), rcvd: Queen Juliana Solemn Investiture medal (6.9.1948), daughter of H.H. as-Sultan ibnu us-Sultan Almafudl Bifadlillahil Malik ul-Wahab Siraj ul-Mulki Amir ud-din Wahua Putra Muhammad 'Usman Shah, Sultan of Bacan. He d. at Jakarta, Java, 4th July 1975 (bur. there, transferred to Ternate Royal Cemetery, behind the Masjid Raya Sultan), having had issue, five sons and three daughters:

Succeeded on the death of his father as Head of the Royal House of Ternate, 4th July 1975. Installed at Ternate with the title of Paduka Sri Maha Tuan as-Sultan Haji Muzaffar Shah II, 29th November 1986. MHR Maluku Utara 1971-1977, and Maluku 1978-1988, sometime Presdt. of the provincial assembly of Malukku Utara. m. (first) Elisabeth Petronella [Nelly], née Manoppo, a lady from Menado, a distant relative of the Rajas of Bolang-Mongondo. m. (second) Thalha binti Mahri, a lady of Arab descent. m. (third) Drevenlya, née Amahorsea. m. (fourth) H.H. Jou ma-Boki Dr Nita Budhi Susanti* (b. at Semarang, Java, 7th July 1968), educ. SD Kanisius, SMPN 1, and SMAN I, Kendal, and Univ. Diponegoro, Semarang, a journalist in Semarang 1990, raised to the title of Jou ma-Boki 19th December 2001, and later prom. to Boki Ratu, a descendant of the Royal House of Surakarta, in Java. He has issue, seven sons and six daughters:
