1763 - 1790 H.H. Qa'im
ud-Daula, Nawab Mir Hafiz ud-din Ahmad Khan Bahadur,
Nawab of Surat. b. at Surat, ca. 1736, as Mian
Qutb ud-din Muhammad Khan, elder son of H.H. Qa'im
ud-Daula, Nawab Mir Moin ud-din Muhammad Khan Bahadur,
Qutb Jang, Nawab of Surat, by his wife, Nawab Karim
un-nisa Begum Sahiba, younger daughter of Beglar Khan
Bahadur, educ. privately. Qiladar of Surat
Castle 1750-1751 and 1758-1763. Recognised by the
Governor of Bombay as hereditary Nawab of Surat,
following the death of his father, 27th
February 1763. Installed at Surat Castle and invested
with the titles of Qa'im ud-Daula and Nawab Mir
Hafiz ud-din Ahmad Khan Bahadur. The first ruler of
his line to ascend the musnaid independent of the
Mughal authorities in Delhi. m. H.H. Nawab Fakhr
un-nisa Begum Sahiba. He d. at Surat Castle, March
1790 (bur. Surat) (succ. by his elder
surviving son), having had issue, two sons and one
daughter:
1799 - [1821] H.H. Qutb
ud-Daula, Nawab Mir Nasir ud-din Muhammad Khan Bahadur,
Nusrat Yar Jang, Nawab of Surat, younger son of H.H.
Qa'im ud-Daula, Nawab Mir Hafiz ud-din Ahmad Khan
Bahadur, Nawab of Surat, by his wife, H.H. Nawab Fakhr
un-nisa Begum Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded
on the death of his elder brother, 8th January
1799. Ascended the musnaid and invested with the
titles of Nawab, Qutb ud-Daula, and Nusrat
Yar Jang Bahadur, at Surat Castle, 9th
January 1799. Entered into agreements with the Government
of Bombay in which he surrendered his ruling powers, in
return for a hereditary pension, sovereign rights over
his private properties and the continuation of his
hereditary styles and titles, 14th May 1800. m.
H.H. Nawab Zia un-nisa Begum Sahiba [Ladli Begum] (d.
at Surat Castle, 1828, bur. there), youngest
daughter of his paternal cousin, Safdar ul-Mulk, Nawab
Mir Najm ud-din Muhammad Khan Bahadur, sometime Bakhshi
of Surat, by his first wife, Roshan Ara Khanum, daughter
of Nawabzada Wiqar Muhammad Khan Bahadur, sometime Qiladar
of Surat Castle. He d. at Surat Castle, 23rd
September 1821 (bur. Surat) (succ. by his
second and only surviving son), having had issue, two
sons:

ud-Daula, Nawab Mir Afzal ud-din Muhammad Khan Bahadur,
Hashmat Jang, Nawab of Surat. b. at Surat Castle,
ca. 1782, younger son of H.H. Qutb ud-Daula, Nawab Mir
Nasir ud-din Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Nusrat Yar Jang,
Nawab of Surat, by his wife, H.H. Nawab Zia un-nisa Begum
Sahiba [Ladli Begum], educ. privately. Succeeded
to the titular styles and titles on the death of his
father, 23rd September 1821. Ascended the musnaid
and invested with the titles of Nawab, Qamar
ud-Daula and Hashmat Jang Bahadur, at Surat
Castle, 25th September 1821. m. (first)
H.H. Nawab Padshah Begum Sahiba (d. at Broach,
after 1839), sister of Amir Hafizu'llah Sahib, of the
Nawab family of Broach. m. (second) Zia un-nisa
Begum Sahiba (d. at Surat, before 1828). m.
(i) at Surat, 10th September 1825, Wazir
un-nisa Begum Sahiba, a former slave. m. (ii) at
Surat, 10th September 1825, Amir un-nisa Begum
Sahiba [Munmani Begum] (d. at Surat, after 1853),
alias Umrul Ba, a Hindu Rajput girl from Bhavnagar. m.
(a) Boah Soortee. He d. at the Darya Mahal, Surat,
8th August 1842 (bur. Surat) (when his
titles were abolished by the Government of India), having
