GENEALOGY
1731 - 1754 Kshatriya
Kulavatana Sena Sapta Sahasri Senapati Pratinidhi, Raja
Shrimant Tukojirao I Puar, Raja of Dewas (Senior). b.
at Supa, ca. 1696, second son of Shrimant Sardar
Kalojirao Bubajirao Puar, Subbelashkar, Vishwasrao
Bahadur, of Supa, educ. privately. Followed his
father and brothers into the Maratha service, rising to
the high rank of a Sardar or general officer of
the army. Appointed to the rank of Panch-Sahasri
(commander of five thousand) before 1716. He was
instrumental in the succesful Maratha campaigns which
resulted in the conquest of Central India in 1728.
Received Dewas in joint control with his younger brother,
Raja Shrimant Jivajirao I [Dada Sahib] Puar, as part of
their share in the Malwa settlement, 1731. Granted the
hereditary titles of Sena Sapta Sahasri Senapati
Pratinidhi (commander of seven thousand,
commander-in-chief and Viceroy) in reward for his
distinguished services at the capture of Fort Dharawi for
the Marathas, 2nd May 1739. m. (first)
Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Savitribai Raje Sahib
Puar, Regent of Dewas (Senior) for her adopted son
1754-1756, a lady from the Hinge family of Avasari. m.

Raje Sahib Puar (d. at Dewas, 12th
March 1729). He was k. (s.p.) in
a minor skirmish, during the war with the Jats, 16th
November 1754, having adopted his nephew as his son and
successor:

Shrimant Krishnajirao I Puar, Raja of Dewas (Senior). b.
at Ganegaon, Deccan, 2nd November 1740, as
Shrimant Krishnajirao Baoujirao Puar, second son of
Shrimant Sardar Bapujirao Puar, educ. privately.
Adopted by his paternal uncle, taking the name and title
of Shrimant Yuvaraj Krishnajirao Tukojirao Raje Puar,
1743. Succeeded on his death, 16th November
1754. Reigned under the regency of his adoptive mother,
Rani Savitribai Raje, until he came of age and assumed
full ruling powers, 1756. m. (first) H.H. Shrimant
Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Gangabai Raje Sahib Puar, of
the Kodalikar family, Regent for her adopted son
1789-1794. m. (second) Shrimant Akhand
Soubhagyavati Anandibai Raje Sahib Puar, of the
Vagholikar branch of the Jadhav family. m. (third)
Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Lakshmibai Raje Sahib Puar
(d. at Dewas, 8th May 1805). m.
(fourth) (morganatic) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati
Mainabai Sahib. He d. at Jainabad, near Burhanpur,
24th March 1789 (succ. by his adopted
son), having had issue, one son and one daughter:

Kshatriya Kulavatana Sena Sapta Sahasri Senapati
Pratinidhi, Raja Shrimant Tukojirao II Puar, Raja of
Dewas (Senior). b. at Supa, 17th
December 1783, as Shrimant Vithalrao Ranojirao Puar,
eldest son of Shrimant Sardar Ranojirao Babujirao Puar,
Vishwasrao Bahadur, of Supa, educ. privately.
Adopted by his paternal uncle, taking the name and title
of Shrimant Yuvaraj Tukojirao Krishnajirao Raje Puar,
1788. Succeeded on the death of his uncle and adopted
father, 24th March 1789 (recognized by the
Peishwa 22nd September 1789). Reigned under
the regency of his adopted mother, Rani Gangabai, until
he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers
by the Peshwa, in person, at Poona, 4th
October 1794. Signed a treaty of friendship and alliance
with the HEIC, 12th December 1818. m.

Raje Sahib Puar. m. (second) H.H. Shrimant Akhand
Soubhagyavati Rani Savitribai Raje Sahib Puar, daughter
of the Desmukh of Mundagaon. m. (third) H.H.
Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Bhawanibai Raje Sahib
Puar (d. at Dewas, 1835), Regent for her adopted
son 28th September 1827-1835, daughter of
Shrimant Sardar Rajajirao Jadhav, Desmukh of Chalisgaon.
He d. at Dewas, 28th September 1827 (succ.
by his adopted son), having had issue, two sons and three
daughters, by Rani Bhawanibai:

Sahib] Puar, Raja of Dewas (Senior). b. 1821, son
of Shrimant Sardar Ranojirao Puar, educ.
privately. Adopted by Raja Tukojirao II, 1827 taking the
name of Shrimant Yuvaraj Rukmangadrao Tukojirao Raje
Puar. Succeeded on the death of his adopted father,
28th September 1827 and ascended the gadi,
31st October 1827. m. (first) at
Baroda, 11th May 1833, H.H. Shrimant Akhand
Soubhagyavati Rani Rewabai Maharaje Sahib Puar (d.
1841), daughter H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Sayajirao II
Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of
Baroda. m. (second) at Baroda, 1843, H.H. Shrimant
Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Yamunabai Maharaje Sahib
Puar (b. at Baroda, 1829; d.s.p.
at Dewas, 1909), Regent for her adopted son 26th
July 1860 to 23rd March 1867, granted the
personal title of Maharani 7th January
1905, younger daughter of H.H. Shrimant Maharaja
Sayajirao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur,
Maharaja of Baroda. m. (third) at Samnagar,
February 1857, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani
Gangabai Raje Sahib Puar, a lady from the Mhaske family
of Samnagar. He d. at Baroda, 26th July
1860 (succ. by his adopted son), having had issue
