1874 - 1892 Lieutenant-Colonel H.H. Raj Rishi Shri Sawai Maharaja Sir Mangal Singhji Veerendra Shiromani Dev Bharat Prabhakar Bahadur, Maharaja of Alwar, GCSI (1.1.1886). b. at Thana, 25th November 1859, younger son of Thakur Shri Hardeo Singh, of Thana, educ. Mayo Coll., Ajmer (becoming the first pupil of that august institution). Adopted by Maharao Raja Sheodan Singhji, and formally invested as Heir Apparent with the title of Yuvraj Sahib. Succeeded on the death of his adopted father, 11th October 1874. Installed on the gadi at the Durbar Hall, Vinay Vilas Palace, Alwar. Raised to the hereditary title of Maharaja April 1889. Hon Lieut-Col. IA 25/3/1885. m. (first) H.H. Maji Maharaj Sahib (d. at Alwar, 31st March 1897), second daughter of H.H. Umdai Rajahai Buland Makan Diwan Maharaja Shri Prithvi Singh Sahib Bahadur, Raja of Kishangarh, by his wife, daughter of Svasti Shri Rajadhiraja Madho Singhji Sahib, Raja of Shahpura. m. (second) a daughter of Svasti Shri Rajadhiraja Jagat Singhji Sahib, Raja of Shahpura. m. (third) 1879, the elder daughter of H.H. Raja Shri Bhairon Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Raja of Ratlam. He d. at Alwar, 22nd May 1892, having had issue, an only son by his third wife:

Raj Rishi Shri Sawai Maharaja Sir Jai Singhji Veerendra Shiromani Dev Bharat Prabhakar Bahadur, Maharaja of Alwar, GCSI (3.6.1924, KCSI 1.1.1909), GCIE (1.1.1919, KCIE 12.12.1911). b. at Alwar, 14th June 1882, only son of Lieutenant-Colonel H.H. Raj Rishi Shri Sawai Maharaja Sir Mangal Singhji Veerendra Shiromani Dev Bharat Prabhakar Bahadur, Maharaja of Alwar, GCSI, by his second wife, educ. privately and at Mayo Coll., Ajmer. Succeeded on the death of his father, 22nd May 1892. Installed on the gadi at the Durbar Hall, Vinay Vilas Palace, Alwar, 3rd June 1892. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, by the Viceroy, Lord Curzon, in person, 10th December 1903. Indian representative at the Imperial Conference in London 1926. Hon. Lieut-Col. IA 1/1/1915, prom. Hon. Col 1/1/1921, Hon Colonel 46th (1st Alwar) Lancers, IA 10/1/1919, Hon Col. 1st/145th Alwar (Jai Phaltan) Infantry, IA 10/1/1919, and General-in-Chief Alwar State Forces. Raised to the hereditary title of Sawai Maharaja. Granted a personal salute of 17-guns, in recognition of the war services of his troops, 1st January 1921. Removed from executive authority and forbidden from residing within the boundaries of in Alwar for the remainder of his life, 1933. Went into exile in France. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar gold medals (1903 and 1911). m. (first) at Kishengarh, 8th December 1897, H.H. Maharani … Sahiba (d. at Alwar, 20th May 1921), daughter of H.H. Umdai Rajahai Buland Makan Diwan Maharaja Shri Sir Sadul Singh Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Kishangarh, GCIE, by his wife, H.H. Maharani Shri Baiji Jas Kunwarji Sahib, the eldest daughter of H.H. Rao Shri Umed Singhji Bahadur, Rao Sahib of Sirohi. m. (second) 17th April 1914, H.H. Maharani … Sahiba (d. at Alwar, 23rd March 1919), daughter of Thakore Shri Balsinhji Raisinhji Sahib, Thakore of Khirasra, in Kathiawar, a niece of the Jam of Jamnagar. m. (third) 7th December 1919, a lady of Rajpura, a relative of the Jam of Jamnagar. m. (fourth) a lady from Duva, in Kathiawar. He d. at Paris, France, 19th May 1937 (cremated at Alwar), having had issue, an only daughter:

1937 Colonel H.H. Raj Rishi Shri Sawai Maharaja Sir Tej Singhji Veerendra Shiromani Dev Bharat Prabhakar Bahadur, Maharaja of Alwar, KCSI (2.6.1943). b. at Thana, 17th March 1911, second son of Colonel Raja Shri Ganga Singh, of Srichandpura, sometime Dep. Cdr. Alwar State Forces. Selected by the GOI as successor to his distant cousin, with effect from 19th May 1937. Installed at the Durbar Hall, Vinay Vilas Palace, Alwar, 22nd July 1937. Appointed as Hon. Maj. 4/7/1941, prom. Hon. Lt-Col. 15/8/1945, and Hon. Col. 15/10/1946. Signed the instrument of accession to the Dominion of India, 15th August 1947. The administration of the state was taken over by the GOI and the Maharaja and Premier confined to Delhi on 7th February 1948, on the grounds that they were implicated in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi! Entered into a covenant with his fellow rulers to form the United State of Matsya on 28th February 1948, by which his state merged with that union effective from 17th March 1948 (when he ceased to enjoy any sovereign powers). Consented to a further covenant creating the Greater Rajasthan union on 10th March 1949, by which his state merged with that union effective 15th May 1949. The GOI amended the Indian Constitution to remove his position as a "ruler" and his right to receive privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. Rcvd: Silver Jubilee (1935), Coron. (1937), British War (1945), and Indian Independence (1947) medals. m. 1931, H.H. Maharani Shri Chand Kunwar Baiji Lal Sahiba (d. 1998), eldest daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Maharaj Shri Akhai Singhji Sahib, of Raoti, in Jodhpur. He had issue, two sons and three daughters:
