1643 - 1661 H.M. Emperor Shun-chih [Shih-tsu Chang Huang Ti] [T'i T'ien Lung Yün Ting T'ung Chien Chi Ying Jui Chin Wên Hsien Wu Ta Tê Hung Kung Chih Jên Ch'un Hsiao Chang], the Great Illustrious Emperor of the Great Ch'ing Dynasty, Son of Heaven, Lord of Myriad Years, etc. b. at the Palace of Lasting Happiness, Shenyang, 15^th March 1638, as Fulin, educ. privately. Proclaimed after the death of his father, 8^th October 1643. Proclaimed as the Great Illustrious Emperor of the Great Ch'ing Dynasty, Son of Heaven, Lord of Myriad Years, etc., at Peking, 30^th October 1643. Reigned under the Regency of his uncle, Princes Dorgon. Assumed full ruling powers on the regent's death, 31^st December 1650. m. thirty-two wives, including: four empresses, four Fei, eight Shu Fei (first) 8^th February 1651, Jing Fei, known as "the Abandoned Empress", raised to the rank of Empress as Hsiao K'ang Huang Hou 27^th September 1651, demoted to Jing Fei on 15^th October 1653, daughter of Ügüshin [Uksan], Prince Jorightu (Ho Shê Jorightu Ch'in Wang) of the Borjigit clan and brother of Empress Hsiao Chuang Wen. m. (second) H.M. Empress Hsiao K'ang-chang (b. 1640; d. at Peking, 10^th March 1663, bur. Hsiao-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), raised to the title of Empress as Hsiao K'ang-chang Huang Hou May 1654, Dowager Empress as Hsiao K'ang-chang Huang T'ai Hou 13^th November 1662, and the posthumous title of Hsiao K'ang Chi He Chuang Yi Kung Hui Chang Tian Yü Sheng Huang Hou 20^th March 1663, daughter of General H.E. T'ung T'u-lai [Tunggulai], 1^st Prince Chin-Hsieng, of the Tonggiya clan. m. (third) 1653, H.M. Empress Hsiao Hui-chang (b. 1641; d. 7^th January 1718, bur. Hsiao-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), raised to the title of Empress as Hsiao Chang Huang Hou 6^th October 1653, Dowager Empress as Hsiao Chang Huang T'ai Hou 13^th November 1662, and received the posthumous title of Hsiao Hui-chang Huang T'ai Hou 12^th April 1718, daughter of H.H. Prince Jorji, 1^st Duke Tchen-kouo-kong, of the Korchin Mongols. m. (fourth) at Peking, September 1656, H.M. Empress Hsiao Hsien Tuan-ching [Juanchi] (b. 1639; d. at the Cheng Chien Palace, Peking, 23^rd September 1660, bur. Hsiao-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), granted the title of Hsien Fei September 1656, and prom. to Huang Kuei Fei January 1657, posthumously raised to the rank of Empress with the title of Hsiao Hsien Tuan-ching Huang Hou 1660, widow of his youngest half-brother, H.H. Prince Bombogor [Chao], 1^st Prince Hiang, and daughter of Count Osi, Grand Minister of the Imperial Household, of the Donggo clan and the Plain White Banner Corps. m. (a) Pa-chi Pin. m. (b) Huang-fu Ning-chueh Fei [Dunggo-chi], daughter of Kotsihai, Majodomo of the Palace of Prince Chang Chi, and Chieftain of the Dunggo clan. m. (c) Ch'en-chi Fei. m. (d) T'ang-chi Pin. m. (e) Niu-chi. m. (f) Mukotu-chi, daughter of Uko, a nobleman of the eighth rank. m. (g) (one of the foregoing?) a daughter of Shih shen, sometime Senior Vice-Presdt. of the Ministry of Personnel. He d. from small-pox, at the Yang-hsin Hall, in the Forbidden City, Peking, 5^th February 1661 (bur. Hsiao-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), having had issue, eight sons and six daughters, including:

2) Field Marshal H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Fu-ch'uan [Hien], 1^st Prince Yü (Yü Ho Shê Ch'in Wang) (cre. 1667). b. 8^th September 1653 (s/o Huang-fu Ning-chueh Fei), educ. privately. Appointed as Generalissimo (Fu-yuan Ta Jiang-chun) 6^th August 1690, and comanded in the disastrous campaign against Galdan. He d. 10^th August 1703, having had issue, including two sons:
- a) H.H. Prince Pao-t'ai, 2^nd Prince Yü (Yü Yuan Fêng Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). Deprived of his princedom in 1724. He had issue, including two sons:
  - i) Prince (Yuan Fêng Chi Tzu) Kuang-chan.
  - ii) Prince (Yuan Fêng Fu Kuo Kung) Kuang-hoa.
- b) H.H. Prince Pao-chiu [Tao], 3^rd Prince Yü (Yü Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). He had issue, including two sons:
  - i) H.H. Prince Kuang-ning, 4^th Prince Yü (Yü Yuan Fêng Ho Shê Ch'in Wang).
  - ii) H.H. Prince Kuang-lu, 5^th Prince Yü (Yü Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). b. 1706. He d. 1785, having had issue. Copyright© Christopher Buyers
3) H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Hsuan-ye, who succeeded as H.M. Emperor K'ang-hsii[Ch'ing T'zu Jin Huang Ti], Great Emperor of the Great Ching Dynasty (s/o Empress Hsiao K'ang-chang) - see below.
4) H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Hoang Se-tse, 1^st Prince Jung (Jung Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). b. 12^th November 1657 (s/o Empress Hsiao Hsien Tuan-ching), educ. privately. He d. 25^th February 1658.
5) General H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Chang-ning, 1^st Prince Kung (Kung Ho Shê Ch'in Wang) (cre. 1671). b. 8^th December 1657 (s/o Ch'en-chi Fei), educ. privately. Appointed as C-in-C (An-pei Ta Jiang-chun) 1690. He d. 20^th July 1703, having had issue, five sons and a daughter:
- a) The Noble (Fu Kuo Chiang Chün) Yong Cheou.
- b) H.H. Prince (Fêng Ên Chên Kuo Kung) Mantuhu.
- c) H.H. Prince (To Lo Pei Lê) Hai Chen [Hi-min].
- d) The Noble (Fu Kuo Chiang Chün) Toei T'sing-ko.
- e) The Noble (Fu Kuo Chiang Chün) Cho T'ai.
  - A descendant -> H.E. Sung-sen [Chin-shih in 1865], Presdt. Cncl. for Colonial Affairs 1889-1893.
- a) H.H. Princess Chun-hsii(Ho Shê Chun-hsi Kung Chu). Adopted by Emperor Shih-tsu. m. 1699, Bandi Taiji, a Khorchin Mongol. She d. 1741.
6) H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) K'i-chiu. b. 3^rd January 1660 (s/o T'ang-chi Fei). He d. young.
7) H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Lung-hsi, 1^st Prince Ch'un (Chun Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). b. 30^th May 1660 (s/o Niu-chi Fei), educ. privately. He d. 20^th August 1679, having had issue, one son:
- a) H.H. Prince Fou-eul-hou-len, 2^nd Prince Ch'un (Chun Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). He d.s.p.
8) H.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Yong-kan. b. 1660 (s/o Mukotu-chi Fei). He d. 23^rd January 1661.
1) H.H. Princess (Kung Chu) Kung-k'o. b. January 1654. m. a nephew of Baron Oboi. She d. 1685.
2) H.H. Princess (Ho Shê Kung Chu) Kung-yi. m. 1667, Prince (Ho Shê E Fu) Suhe (d. ca. 1675). She d. 1685.
