Galilee Mission Alliance - General Information
“Inasmuch As Ye Have Done It Unto The Least Of These My
Brethren, Ye Have Done It Unto Me…..Matt. 25:40”
Galilee
Ministries International outreach through missions provide a wide range of
services to help meet the needs of every individual who walks through its
doors. From single men and women to mothers, children and families, GMI’s
mission is dedicated to providing food, clothing, safe shelter, and Christian
counseling to those bereft of these essential commodities. Shattered lives! Broken
dreams! Ruined hopes! These are things that we deal with on a daily basis at
GMI. Our primary mission goal will be to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and
His redemptive work on the cross throughout the Bahamas as local missions, and
throughout the world as foreign missions.
Missions
in general will be a mandate of every church department.
The
mandate of our mission is to cater to the needy throughout our community and
indeed, the Bahamas. We even extent our
mission exercise to the World where necessary.
Our mission group is well trained to identify basic needs and how to
effectively meet those needs.
Weekly Soup Kitchen
GMI’s
Soup Kitchen is opened on Saturday Mornings, and provides a balanced meal
between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
To ensure the supply of ingredients for our soup kitchen, all church
departments are mission oriented and
collects a quarterly missions offering.
Our objective is to reach those in need in our community and present a
hot meal with love and care for those seeking our response.
Being
present to others in the midst of crisis or lingering illness is the focus of
the GMI’s Hospital Ministry. In addition to individual visits with members and
other patients our hospital team offers weekly opportunities for ecumenical
worship and discussion tailored to the unique needs of the patients in the
hospital.
We will establish a prison ministry at the earliest time
possible. We will visit with inmates and provide the Inmates, the Inmate's
Families, Victims of Crime, as well as Law Enforcement Officers, Personal and
Spiritual Help. We also will provide
assistance to the inmate after he/she is released from prison. Such as helping
them find a Church, a job and a place to live. But most important of all, we
will (JUST LET THEM KNOW THAT WE CARE).
This is very important to the GMI Family.
GMI accumulate school supplies for members to be issued at the beginning of each term. Those who can afford to pay do so at a minimal price, while others receive as a mission effort.
Mission Jamboree
On the last Saturday in February of each year is our annual Mission Jamboree. This is an opportunity for those with a giving spirit to give food and clothing, and those in need will come and receive the same. We also provide lunch for those coming to receive of the Lord. We are praying for supplies so that we can increase the interval for distributions.
