The new Panama Canal Railroad
  This is a section of the newly rebuilt Panama Canal Railroad. The snapshot of this section is situated in Corozal. Just across, at the right, is seen the Train Station, for embarkation and disembarkation of passengers. This photo shot faces the Atlantic. It should be noted, that all former wooden "ties" were replaced by reinforced concrete "ties"; the full length of the 47.5 miles from the Pacific (Panama), to the Atlantic, (Colon). The new Panama Canal Railroad Company opened for business on July 2,2001.

This new Panama Canal Railroad Train Engine is parked off Corozal on the newly constructed Railroad Tracks. This engine is parked--facing the Atlantic.

This is the same Building which was used for keeping files and operations involving the former Canal Zone and the Panama Canal.

The original name of this bridge was Thatcher Ferry- Bridge; built by the United States. It was later renamed Puente de las Americas (Bridge of the Americas). This photo was taken on August 24,2001, from the East bank in Amador, which was formerly a U.S. base.
