While a few of the guns are very rare, most of the guns are the ones that are very common but are not listed. Prices, when possible are from the 1997 Complete book of guns. Otherwise, prices are taken from either Palladium books or GDWs Infanty weapons of the World. For even more complete lists of weapons, I would recommend the purchasing that or similar magazine and books on combat rifles. I left target pistols out for the most part even though there are large numbers of them. Some weapons are repeated from Palladium books but only a very small number. Note: At present, in the United States, part of the Brady Bill limits magazine size to 10 rounds. Because I assume that most player characters can get around this law (one way or another), I have tried to list the true capacity of the magazine. Types of Weapons: Double Action Automatic: Whenever the trigger is pulled, the hammer will go back and then strike the firing pin. After the first shot, the slide will recock the hammer meaning that it does not have to be cocked for every shot. Most new automatics are of this type. Automatic pistols can carry one more round then magazine capacity because one bullet is in the guns firing chamber. Double Action Only Automatic: Whenever the trigger is pulled, the hammer will go back and then strike the firing pin. After the first shot, the slide will NOT recock the hammer. Automatic pistols can carry one more round then magazine capacity because one bullet is in the guns firing chamber. Double Action Revolver: Whenever the trigger is pulled, the hammer will go back and then strike the firing pin. You can also normally pull the hammer back manually for a more accurate shot. Most new revolvers are of this type. Single Action Automatic: Pulling the trigger will only drop the hammer. This means that before the first shot, the hammer must be cocked. After the first shot, the slide will recock the hammer meaning that it does not have to be cocked for every shot. Automatic pistols can carry one more round then magazine capacity because one bullet is in the guns firing chamber. Single Action Revolver: Pulling the trigger will only drop the hammer. This means that before every shot, the hammer must be cocked. Notes on Bursts: Number of Shots fired: Standard Palladium modern weapons rules list the number of shots that are fired in a burst as a percentage of a magazine. This means that for the purpose of bursts, you have no advantage with your M-16 whether you have a 10 round post Brady bill magazine or you have a 99 round snail magazine. Instead, change the size of what is considered a magazine to be to 20 rounds for automatic pistols and automatic rifles and to 100 rounds for machine guns. This means that a short burst from an M-16 would be 4 bullets instead of 20% of magazine. This of course means that you cannot do what was entire magazine bursts with a ten round magazine. As well, several modern combat rifles have a three round burst setting. For these weapons, treat the damage per a short burst but only have three wounds expended. Type of BurstShots Fired: AutomaticShots Fired: Machine gun Short Burst4 rounds10 rounds Long Burst10 rounds30 rounds Extended Burst (Was Entire Magazine)20 rounds100 rounds Treatment & Mistreatment of Magazines: In several action movies, two magazines have been taped together so that when one magazine runs out of rounds, they switch quickly to the other magazine. In reality, this is a very dangerous practice. The connections that the magazine make with weapon are very easily damaged. In game terms, there is a 10 percent chance per day that this will result in the magazine not fitting in the weapon. Since the damage can happen simply from the magazine bumping when leaving a building or vehicle, this rate of failure should be checked as soon as the first magazine runs out of shots and the new magazine is switched to. There is some additional wear but various handgun magazines have indicated that the weapons wear is minimal. In game terms, unless a individual always uses .40 S&W rounds, there is no additional wear or chance of failure for the weapon. A 10 mm round will not work in a weapon chambered for .40 S&W rounds. Revolvers: All revolvers that are designed to use .357 rounds (does not include .357 Sig rounds) can use .38 rounds with no penalty or any additional wear. Many law enforcement officials used to do this (before automatics replaced most revolvers) because .357 revolvers are studier than .38 revolvers. The cylinder of a .38 automatic is too short for a .357 round, so they cannot be used (it would also destroy the weapon if they could) Optional Rules for Types of Ammo: Hollow Points: Instead of the standard rule for Modern weapons that hollow points do +4 SDC, instead double the rounds damage. These rounds have a penalty of -6 for pistols rounds and -2 for rifles rounds against the A.R. rating of body armor when target is wearing armor. This can also be applied to beings that have natural body armor. Glazer Safety Slugs: These rounds can do massive damage to a target but have almost non existent penetration. The rounds do triple damage but if used on any target that has any armor or even has thick clothing or fur, the rounds only do one third of a normal rounds target even if the armor rating is exceeded. These rounds have a penalty of -8 against the A.R. rating of body armor when target is wearing armor Armor Piercing: These rounds are designed to penetrate body armor. These rounds have a bonus of +6 for Rifles and +2 for pistols rounds to penetrate body armor. However, these rounds do less damage to the target, on every die, lose 1 point of damage.
