In the few days following the mandate that President Bush's re-election represents, our liberal friends on the other side are at it again.
Throughout the course of time, it has always been the winners that have defined victory or written the course of history following great triumphs.
Only now, do we see the losers, (the so-called mainstream media and in this case the national Democrat party), attempting to decide what the most recent republican landslide really means.
How many times have you already read or heard from the liberal media that this election was nothing more than a right-wing, religious- zealot victory. They maintain it was accomplished by scaring citizens, and exploiting the gay marriage issue in order to secure victory on November 2nd.
This is very remeniscent of when the republicans permitted the democrats and the liberal media to define victory on the war in Iraq by whether or not weapons of mass destruction would be found.
When weapons of mass destruction were repeatedly found, the national democrats and the media merely ammended their definition; for victory to only be satisfied by the finding of "stock-piles" of weapons. By continually moving the bar, the national democrats and the media at large insured that no matter what events transpired, they would be able to declare the war a failure.
By any measure, the human rights atrocities alone, committed upon the Iraqi people by Saddam Hussein, justifies any and all action taken by the United States and coalition forces.
It becomes obvious, that our liberal friends have no intention to search their own minds and souls for the real reasons for their resounding defeat.
It is incumbent upon clear thinking individuals to remind them that the message from this past Tuesdays historic republican victory is much more significant, than just looking at it through the narrow view of the Gay Marriage issue.
The media has quickly moved to attempt to deligitimize the mandate President George W. Bush won. As the President remarked a few days ago, he's "earned capital", and intends to utilize it.
In steps our liberal 4th estate, when you need them less, lecturing the winners as to what they need to do to earn their respect. The media pundents are now giving their unsolicited advice to the individuals that they scurrilously attacked for years, doing everything they could to bring them down. And, in the end, the media wants to dictate how the winners should govern?
There is an old addage, which has been undeniable through the years. To the victor; go the spoils. It's time to utilize the spoils of victory to bring about the changes and proposals which were promised by the President.
You see, to the liberal media, campaign promises are just things to say, in order to be elected. This is why they never held their favorite sons, like Bill Clinton, to any of the promises that they made. Winning without real intention or accomplishments was always good enough for them.
What confounds the 4th estate, is when a man of integrity like George W. Bush makes proposals, wins election and than moves to bring about the changes that he proposed. How dare he? They think.
Look back at the promises George Bush made during the campaign of 2000. On the big items, he delivered. Bush's Tax Cuts for all tax-payers, education reform, and pledge to enhance Medicare for our senior citizens to include a Prescription Drug benefit, were all accomplished. This was all accomplished after he inherited an economy in recession and we sufferered the worst attack in our country in history. This was extraordinary, even by by Washington, DC standards!
Arnold Schwarznegger was asked the other day, when he was going to reach out to the democrats to address all of the propostions that were passed/rejected in the recent elections in California. His response: "why would I look to the losers; they were defeated on every proposition"!
Now, this might seem harsh at first glance. But do you ever recall the liberal 4th estate asking the democrats to reach out to the losing republicans, when they, (the democrats), were in power for forty years? Also, a mere majority was all that was ever required to govern way back when the liberals were in control.
Would the liberal media have ever permitted the republicans to endlessly fillibuster in order to obstruct the appointment of Judges or other governmental functions? Would this have ever been tolerated once by the Republicans, yet alone repeatedly as is now an accepted method of doing business by the Democrats?
Don't allow the other side to marginalize this great victory and the important issues that lie ahead.
It's time for the winners to define the scope of their own victory. To do any less, would be un-American.
