Here are the results of our analysis of just one invoice (# 10061) submitted for payment by Attorney Dan Gallagher ... Did you know that Dan Gallagher bills the taxpayers of Atlantic City $ 195.00 an hour? Also, that much of his work is duplication of what is already being done by the City Solicitor ... And, outrageously, there is a charge from Gallagher to do a legal correspondence to the City Solicitor ... You, the taxpayers are paying for both sides of this action ... The Faulkner Act says Gallagher must go ... When will an Atlantic County Court do its job?

ATLANTIC CITY - HarryHurley.com is prepared to release the first part of a multipart series regarding the exorbitant billing by Attorney Dan Gallagher, for work he performs in the position of City Council Solicitor ... a position that the Faulkner Act clearly states cannot exist.

HarryHurley.com hereby reports a breakdown of Dan Gallagher (under the law office of George K. Miller) (invoice # 10061 for professional services) for the month of January, 2004 as follows:

1/9/04 Letter to Smoger (can you believe this) ... you, the taxpayers are paying for Gallagher to write a letter to City Solicitor Steve Smoger. The reality is this ... if you don't have Gallagher in the "invalid" position of Council Solicitor, then you wouldn't be paying for him to chop trees down, writing Smoger, etc.

It should be noted that Gallagher billed 1/4 of an hour or $ 48.75 to write this letter about Iris Hernandez (Multi Cultural Affairs Director).

For the record, Gallagher billed 9.55 hours for a total of $ 1,862.25 ... You even pay for his fax bill for these hours at an additional $ 21.00 ... For a total of $ 1,883.25.

All items submitted have the initials DJG in parenthesis ... which confirms that it is Dan Gallagher billing the hours worked.

While day-after-day ... we continue to read massive headlines about where Langford Directors live, or, don't live ... yet, here is real taxpayer money going down the drain and the local media continues to spike this important news story.

Further ... the irony of all of this is that if there wasn't an invalid City Council Solicitor billing all of these hours ... there wouldn't even be the current tabloid/McCarthy hearings ...which are very thinly disguised as a public purpose ... when in reality, they are nothing more then a political which hunt.

Until an Atlantic County Judge ... Val Armstrong, or someone, steps up and does their job ... these billable hours will continue.
