Winners announced for First Annual Global Gaming Business Gaming and Technology Awards

 

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ, November 7, 2003… Global Gaming Business Magazine and the Gaming Industry Observer today announced the winners of the first annual Global Gaming Business Gaming and Technology Awards. The awards, which recognize excellence in innovation and practical application, will be presented at the 5th Annual Gaming and Technology Conference to be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Nov. 13.

 

The winners of the First Annual Global Gaming Business Gaming and Technology Awards are:

 

Best Consumer-Service Technology

First Place: Bally Gaming and Systems, ePRINTER

Second Place: Paltronics Inc., One Link Media System

Third Place: Bally Gaming and Systems & Mindplay LLC, Mindplay

Best Productivity-Enhancement Technology

First Place: Venture Catalyst, Mariposa Software

Second Place: Casino Data Imaging, Casino CAD

Third Place: William Ryan Group, Real Time Slot Service

Best Slot Product

First Place: IGT, Multi-Hand Multi-Strike Poker

Second Place: Colepat LLC, Games for Gamblers

Third Place: Sierra Design Group, Auction Fever

 

Judges were: George Mancuso, vice president, slot operations for the Tropicana in Atlantic City; Claudia Winkler, president of GHI Solutions Inc. in Las Vegas; and Judy Cornelius, associate director of the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno. Nominees were evaluated during the Global Gaming Expo in September.

 

“These judges are considered the best in their fields, and these awards reflect their standards of excellence,” said Roger Gros, editor of Global Gaming Business magazine, which administers the awards program.

 

“These judges selected the best from a field of excellent candidates. The winners should be very proud of this accomplishment,” said Michael Pollock, managing director of Spectrum Gaming Group and publisher of Michael Pollock’s Gaming Industry Observer, a conference organizer.

 

The Gaming and Technology Conference will also present the 2nd Annual Larry Cole Award For Excellence and Innovation in Gaming Technology. The recipient of that award will be Park Place Entertainment, with CEO Wallace Barr accepting.
