FORMER DON WILLIAMS
PRODUCER MATT LAWLER
REVEALS THE TRUTH
ON-AIR TODAY WITH
"HURLEY IN THE MORNING"

Williams
WILLIAMS

Lawler tells all and blows the whistle on Don Williams!

This was a truly extraordinary on-air segment today. For more then 15 years we have maintained that Don Williams has possessed an unhealthy obsession with our every on-air move ...

I have chronicled this to you over the years that (we knew) that Williams listens to our every word ... That he audio tapes every "Hurley" program ... That Williams had ordered Producer (Matt Lawler) to monitor our program (live) while doing his show at the same time ... We have also maintained that local talk radio listener/callers have been mistreated by Williams in a variety of ways.

Matt Lawler removed any and all doubt as to whether your "Truth in Broadcasting" (Harry Hurley) was telling you the truth all these years.

In one of the most rare and honest moments in local talk radio history ... Lawler, who was Williams on-air producer for more than 4 years told our "Hurley in the Morning" audience everything!

This was the kind of behind the scenes tell-all interview that rarely ever happens!

And, remember, this is the same Matt Lawler that Williams and all the on-air personalities at WOND gushed about publicly. And they should ... Because Lawler is a class act.

It is very rare for someone who was on the "other side of the fence" (as Matt called it today on-air) ... to climb over and set the record straight.

In a wide-ranging interview, Lawler confirmed the following:

That Williams directed Matt to listen to "Hurley in the Morning" (the entire program) each and every day.

Matt was required to tape our program every day.

During breaks, Williams would regularly inquire as to what is "Harry talking about?"

That Williams later decided to audio tape the program himself every day and would listen to our broadcast regularly.

That Williams regularly placed listeners/callers that he did not want to speak with at the bottom of the list ... moving them consistently to the bottom as other callers arrived to the program.

Matt Lawler mentioned Jerry from Atlantic City in particular, as one who received this shabby treatment.

Matt confirmed that elaborate information was obtained from callers, in order to determine exactly what they wanted to speak about ... Williams would then avoid any of those calls (he didn't like) on an at will basis.

Matt confirmed that Don Williams considers me his "arch enemy" ... For the record, I do not feel the same way towards Williams.

I am so grateful to Matt Lawler for stepping forward ... He is a generous and good man. This is especially significant because Lawler has always been a "behind the scenes" type of guy. That he stepped forward today is extraordinary.

I consider this on-air segment with Matt Lawler today to be one of the most validating interviews that I have ever conducted.

I believe in my heart that most all believed me when I reported these things over the many years. However, when you have an unsolicited corroboration of facts in such an unambiguous manner ... By a veteran former staff member (from the other team) ... who did it in manner with absolutely no axe to grind ... It doesn't get any better then this.

What can you say when someone like Matt Lawler honors you with such a candid accounting of everything that was done to you by your direct competitor over the many years?

You simply say ... THANK YOU. And let him know how much you appreciate him for trusting you with such a memorable and validating, live on-air moment.
